ICC Report: Sapporo ADC Creators Meeting 2009
On May 29th, Sapporo Art Directors Club hosted the Sapporo ADC Creators Meeting 2009.
Since 2001, ADC’s mission has been to gather creators from various genres to provide an opportunity to “learn”, “interact”, “strengthen”, and “present”. Every year, an open judging takes place to honor work that excels and to create a yearly catalogue.
This day, the agenda included a general meeting, presentation of yearly catalogue, and award ceremony. Following the meeting, members voted on the best logo and slogan submitted for use by ADC.
The highest award winner was Yoshinori Okada with his typography, “Ghost! Seriously?” His ghost even made an appearance onstage. Also, Kazuhiro Kikuchi’s logo and copyrighter Kosuke Ikehata’s slogan was selected as the winner and will be used for ADC during the coming year.

The ghost joined Okada onstage.

Junya Kamada (left) designed the trophies for award winners. Takayuki Murai (right) from Tsukiakari Kobo produced them.

Second place was a billboard advertisement design for Nike created by these two from Wabisabi.

ADC selected this three-dimensional logo by Graphic Designer Kazuhiro Kikuchi for the coming year.

The new slogan “Shiteyattari” (“We did it!” or “Made it happen!”), was the idea of Copyrighter Kosuke Ikehata.
