Report: Welcoming Residents for Ninth Season
ICC held a welcoming party for new residents at the facility as the first creative meeting of the year, welcoming 70 participants on Friday, April 24th.
Creative meetings are part of a support system at ICC for the resident members.
Residents head the meeting with announcements and discussions having to do with some sort of central theme. It is also an opportunity for members to exchange information and create chances for their business. This first meeting served the purpose of welcoming a group of new residents.
Four pairs joined the residency program, including new members from foreign countries:
Richard Hopkins, on track toward creating his own bilingual monthly publication, production company studio REBARD, animation production unit kocka, and art creation and restoration expert "TOKEN'S Inc".
First, the new residents introduced their businesses and work, then the current residents and OB members also introduced themselves.

ICC also awarded Hyakkei Advertising, Iosys, Golden Killers, and Hendex for their completion of a three-year residency at ICC with wooden trophies created by Vas Inc, another graduate of ICC.
The "ICC Award 2009" for outstanding achievement was given to Iosys.
Following the welcoming party, Ryusuke Itou, visual creator and associate professor at Hokkaido University of Education, along with ICC Chief Coordinator Toshiya Kubo, held a talk session. Participants enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere to talk business and art well into the night.
